Chapter 8: Customizing OpenOffice.org
Now, by pressing the F4 key or whatever shortcut keys were selected, one can start a spelling
check of the current text document, automatically placing all unknown words in an active
user-defined dictionary.
Configuring Menus
Configuring a menu item is similar to configuring a keyboard shortcut as shown above. The
step-by-step procedure that follows should help in setting up a new menu item, in this case,
the extendedPDF macro from ooomacros.org. While OpenOffice.org modules include pdf
export commands, these do not allow HTML links; thus it may be convenient to add this
feature.
This procedure will work only if there is an installed extendedPDF macro. The following
explains how to integrate extendedPDF commands into the File menu.
Note: Installing the extendedPDF macro is covered by the macro document itself.
1. Open a document.
2. Choose Tools > Configure to open the Configuration dialogue.
3. Click the Menu tab.
4. In the large list box, scroll to find the command in which to integrate the new
extendedPDF command (e.g. “Export”) and select it.
